BRINE SHIELD is a unique additive, composed of a blend of natural ingredients, which when combined with heavy oil field brines eliminates or dramatically delays their corrosive attack on skin.  BRINE SHIELD has been designed to provide employees with a large margin of safety when handling brines.  However, it does not eliminate the need for observing proper safety handling and cleanup procedures.  It is still necessary for the employee to wash affected areas within a reasonable time frame.  Independent laboratory rabbit skin test (available on request) confirms BRINE SHIELD unique ability to prevent brine from causing edema, erythema and necrosis to exposed skin.  BRINE SHIELD performs three ways, by buffering the brine from low pH attack, by providing natural moisturizing and by preventing or severely limiting the brines ability to solubilize and remove the skins natural fats and oils.

BRINE SHIELD is non-corrosive to base metal and does provide corrosion protection at elevated temperatures in combination with brine.  No additional corrosion protection is normally required nor recommended as standard corrosion inhibitors may interfere with BRINE SHIELD performance as a de-arming agent.  If more corrosion inhibition is required the customer can add more BRINE SHIELD or a compatible inhibitor can be recommended.

BRINE SHIELD can be mixed with Host Brine (Calcium Chloride, Calcium Bromide. Zinc Bromide and blends) to specific specifications and percentages, preventing or dramatically limiting the host brine from harming skin.  BRINE SHIELD should be added at 1 to 3% by volume to host brine.  BRINE SHIELD is compatible with all brines and should be added in direct proportion to the brines gravity (i.e. the heavier the brine the more BRINE SHIELD is used). Although the concentration should not be affected by normal filtration, it is recommended that stock be held on location and make-up additions be added following filtration if required.

BRINE SHIELD comes packaged in 55 gallon drums or 550 gallon totes.  If eye contact occurs flush with large amounts of water.  Is non damaging to human tissue.  If ingested drink large amounts of water, do not induce vomiting.
